The Texas Military Department is sending armored personnel carriers to the U.S.-Mexico border. The agency will deploy ten vehicles to the border as part of Operation Lone Star. The order issued last week says the destination for each armored vehicle has not been determined. The agency has also increased aircraft flights and security efforts along the border. The actions followed Governor Abbott's declaration last week that he was invoking a section of the U.S. Constitution to allow him to defend the border against an invasion of criminals and illegal border crossers.
