An accused killer is a free man after the jury found him not guilty of a fatal shooting in the Medical Center in 2021. Tavares Anderson allegedly shot and killed 26-year-old Malcolm Everett in the parking lot of the Addison Apartments on Babcock Road near Medical Drive. Police say the shooting resulted from an argument that started as Anderson and Everett were drinking with two women. On Tuesday, Anderson testified that the shooting was in self-defense, and the jury acquitted him after brief deliberations.
