The Edwards Aquifer Authority is stepping up water restrictions in seven counties. The authority implemented Stage 3 of its Critical Period Management plan last week because of falling water levels in the aquifer. The move applies to Atascosa, Bexar, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, and Medina Counties. The restrictions apply to agricultural users, city water utilities, and certain businesses. Residents and businesses who get their water from a public water supplier are subject to their specific water use guidelines.
