Smokehouse Creek Fire In Texas Panhandle

The Smokehouse Creek wildfire in the Texas Panhandle is now 100% contained. Firefighters have battled the largest wildfire in the history of the state for nearly three-weeks. The fire scorched more than a million acres in several counties, destroying homes, farms and ranches. At least two people and thousands of head of cattle were killed. A Texas House committee is investigating the cause of the Smokehouse Creek fire and several other wildfires, along with the effectiveness of disaster response.
