Missouri's governor is sending 200 state National Guard members to support Texas officers at the southern border. Governor Mike Parson said in a news conference Tuesday that he's taking action because he says the federal government is failing to do its job to protect states. Eleven Missouri Highway Patrol troopers will also be in Texas beginning March 1st. The governor says he's asked the state legislature for a little more than two-million-dollars to support the mission, which is currently set to last 90 days.
