The San Antonio Spurs are riding a 15-game losing streak after Wednesday night's 102-94 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Devin Vassell led all scorers with 22 points for the Spurs in the losing effort. Victor Wembanyama chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Spurs have dropped to last place in the Southwest Division at 3-and-17. Next up, the Spurs welcome the Chicago Bulls on Friday night. Tipoff at Frost Bank Center is at 7:30 p.m.

Spurs Head Coach Greg Popovich
On how his team performed overall with the lineup change…
"I think they did well. That’s the best team in the west and we gave them a good run. You shoot 8-for-37 from three, you’re going to have a tough night and a whole lot of things better be perfect after that. Can’t make many mistakes and we’re making mistakes, but I thought their competitiveness was great. Execution was getting better all the time, but there’s still too many mistakes, not enough habits and we just keep working at that. That’s going to be the measure, we are how we work through this and continue to try to alleviate mistakes because if we’re not making shots, as I said, we better be doing a lot of other good things.”
On the team’s defensive effort tonight…
"I thought they did really well as far as trying to guard guys like (Karl-Anthony Towns) and (Anthony Edwards), those are pretty tough covers, but I thought they did an admirable job of that and it kept us in the game, we just didn’t shoot.”

On the team’s slow start…
"I mean, I think collectively we started very solid on defense, but of course, yeah I can do better. You know, there was a lot of good in that game. Those we’ll try to keep and erase the bad.”
On if the lineup change affected the team’s performance…
“Yes and no. I mean of course it’s a change but we’re professionals and we’re supposed to be able to play in any condition.”

On defensive play…
“Yeah definitely, I think we were really good defensively you know, even though that third quarter they, they made a run, we still you know managed, and we finished a tight games, you know before the, uh, the score was tied before the fourth quarter so I think we were good but you know, I think we gave up a lot of offensive rebounds, and I think we could get better in terms of rebounding I think we’d be in a good spot, you know, we have a great opportunity now in Chicago, now to go ahead and play our best game cause, uh, everybody’s done with losing so.”
On playing Rudy Gobert…
“Yeah, I mean he’s, he’s really tall and um, we’re trying our best obviously, we’re trying our best, but it is what it is.”
