An arrest has been made in a 19-year old cold case involving a newborn found dumped on a ranch in southwest Texas. The Medina County Sheriff's Office says Maricela V. Fausto, identified as the baby's biological mother, is now being charged with capital murder. The newborn baby girl was found in some brush in September of 2004, outside of Hondo. Deputies at the time of the discovery named the newborn "Baby Hope Medina," in the hopes that the person responsible for abandoning the child would be found. Fausto is held in the Medina County jail on a $1 million bond.
