San Antonio ISD plans to file an exemption for complying with a new state law requiring an armed security guard on every public school campus. On Monday night, the school board voted to move ahead with filing the exemption to House Bill 3, which takes effect in September. Board trustees say the SAISD police force doesn't have enough officers, and the district doesn't have enough money. Superintendent Jaime Aquino say the district still has a "rigorous district-wide safety protocol" to keep students and teachers safe.
