A Tropical Storm Warning has now been posted for portions of far South Texas. Tropical Depression Nine is expected to become a Tropical Storm before making landfall tomorrow and is expected to bring heavy rainfall to areas as far north as Port Lavaca to south of Brownsville, with the heaviest rain likely between Corpus Christi and Brownsville and then to the west of there as the storm pushes in.

In preparation for the storm, Kleberg County buildings will be closed. A voluntary evacuation has been ordered for low lying areas in Riviera, Baffin Bay and Loyola Beach. Naval Air Station Kingsville has ordered the RV park on the installation to evacuate. The storm is expected to begin to impact the area as early as tonight, with the heaviest impact tomorrow. If the system develops into a tropical storm, it would be named Harold.
