Hays County Wildfire About 50% Contained

Crews are still battling the Oak Grove Fire in Hays County. The wildfire grew to 400-acres on Sunday and destroyed at least one home. The Texas A&M Forest Service reports the fire also damaged several buildings. As of Sunday evening, the fire was 50% contained, with no new growth reported. A 20-man hand crew attacked the fire, assisted by 15 fire engines, five bulldozers, and National Guard helicopters performing water drops. The fire started around 3 p.m. Saturday on Oak Grove Road in San Marcos.
