Marina Alderete Gavito is the newly elected San Antonio City Council member for District 7. Gavito soundly defeated Dan Rossiter in Saturday's runoff. She led Rossiter by a margin of about 25 percentage points through the night. Gavito and Rossiter were the top two vote-getters in the May 6th election. They were competing to fill the seat vacated by Councilwoman Ana Sandoval, who resigned from the City Council in January.
