A former San Antonio police officer accused of shooting a teenager in the parking lot of a McDonald's is now in custody. Police Chief William McManus announced that 27-year-old James Brennand turned himself in on Tuesday evening. Brennand is accused of shooting 17-year-old Erik Cantu on October 2nd at the restaurant on Blanco Road near West Avenue. He faces two counts of aggravated assault by a public servant because a 17-year-old girl was also in Cantu's vehicle at the time. Cantu is in critical condition, and McManus says the charges may be upgraded if he doesn't survive.
