Texas collected nearly $4 billion in state sales tax revenues in July for the highest one-month total in the state's history. The state comptroller's office announced the figures on Monday, stating that the oil and gas industry led the way. The latest figure was up nearly 15% from a year ago. Comptroller Glenn Hegar says almost every sector of the Texas economy added to the record figure, including construction, manufacturing, and wholesale trade.
