The Southeastern Conference is not expected to expand for three years. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey told reporters today the plan is for Texas and Oklahoma to become members in July 2025. He says the only way the Longhorns and Sooners join sooner is if they reach and agreement with the Big 12. Sankey adds the SEC is stronger than ever and there’s no “sense of panic” after Big Ten announced expansion plans.
