Yankees And Rangers Split Doubleheader

The Yankees and Rangers split their doubleheader after the first two games of their three-game series were postponed. New York began the day with a 2-1 walkoff win over the Rangers. Clay Holmes improved to 3-and-0 on the mound after pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Gleyber Torres was the hero for the Bronx Bombers with the game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth. John King suffered his first loss of the season for Texas. The Rangers responded with a 4-2 victory in the second game. Garrett Richards earned his first win of the year after pitching a scoreless inning in relief of starter Glenn Otto. Eli White and Brad Miller each hit a home run for Texas. Michael King took the loss after allowing two runs over an inning and a third.
