Texas Airlines Drop Mask Mandates

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines and Fort Worth-based American Airlines are dropping their mask mandates. The two carriers were among several airlines that made the announcement on Monday. The move came after a federal judge in Florida overturned the CDC's mask mandate for planes and other public transportation, ruling the CDC didn't have the authority to impose the mandate. Some confusion on the matter may linger. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson tweeted on Monday that as he flew back to Dallas from D.C., Southwest Airlines was denying boarding passes to passengers who weren't wearing masks.
