Highest Court Bringing Back "Remain In Mexico" Policy

The Supreme Court is ordering the Biden administration to bring back the Trump-era "Remain in Mexico" immigration policy. The highest court struck down a request from the Biden White House Tuesday to put on hold the policy that requires migrants to stay in Mexico while they wait for U.S. immigration court dates. The policy was suspended at the beginning of Biden's term and later terminated. Earlier this month, a Trump-appointee U.S. District Judge said the Biden Administration violated the Administrative Procedure Act when it undid Migrant Protection Protocols. The Supreme Court's brief today stated the Biden administration failed to show that termination of the program was arbitrary and capricious. However, the three liberal justices said they would have granted the request to halt the lower court's order.
