Bexar County deputies say a 73-year-old man is dead after being stung hundreds of times by bees in the south part of the county. Deputies responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. Monday to the scene on State Highway 16 South and found the man unresponsive. A neighbor says the man was mowing his lawn when the swarm of bees attacked. She says she tried to help him afterward and called 9-1-1. First responders performed lifesaving measures on the man, who died at Southwest General Hospital.
