Northside ISD Tracks Down No-Show Students

Education

Northside ISD is sending out a team to find the students who aren't coming to class. Student attendance liaison Christine Martinez says she's made about 400 home visits during this school year, accompanied by a juvenile case manager. The district offers support to families during these visits, in the form of food, clothes, WiFi devices, iPads, and counseling. Martinez says some students could make up their lost hours online, but others may end up in summer school. She'll keep visiting NISD families until the end of this week.
