Local Businesses Can Still Require Masks After State Mandate Ends

After the statewide mask mandate ends in Texas on Wednesday, it won't be time to toss the masks yet.

Businesses will retain the right to require customers and employees to mask up on their premises. A customer who refuses to comply could be charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor offense punishable with jail and a fine.

Bexar County D-A Joe Gonzales said on Monday that his office will consider each instance on a case-by-case basis.
