2020 Ford Holiday River Parade Canceled Due To Pandemic

The San Antonio River Walk Association has announced the 2020 Ford Holiday River Parade has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"It is with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s Ford Holiday River Parade," said Maggie Thompson, Executive Director of SARWA. "Needless to say, we are beyond heartbroken, but have exciting plans in the works. We are rolling out all new, socially distanced, and fun virtual activities for 2020, as well as looking ahead to 2021 for even bigger and better events. We hope you are able to join us and contribute to one of our fundraisers that will help to keep us afloat until the pandemic passes."

On the Ford Holiday River Parade website organizers said, "Santa and Mrs. Claus are heartbroken along with us that our beloved Ford Holiday River Parade has been canceled for 2020. They told us they’ll be back in 2021 with more glitter, glee, and toys to carry on this wonderful holiday tradition. This means you’ll have to be good for another year! We invite you to visit the beautiful San Antonio River Walk to see the holiday lights starting in mid-November and River Walk boat caroling and luminarias in December (see our events). We love sharing the magic of the holidays and the magic of the River Walk! Join us for the parade next year on Friday, November 26, 2021."
