Governor: Lifting Up Prayers For President & First Lady

Governor Greg Abbott says he is "lifting up prayers" for President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump after they tested positive for coronavirus.

Abbott tweeted, "May God’s healing powers touch them, strengthen them, and raise them up."

The President and First Lady tested positive for the coronavirus after coming in contact with White House advisor Hope Hicks. Hicks tested positive for the coronavirus after traveling with the President recently to a rally in Minnesota. Hicks is frequently in contact with Trump and was with him Tuesday when he traveled to the presidential debate in Cleveland. A photo shows her getting off the plane in Cleveland not wearing a mask. Hicks also traveled aboard the presidential helicopter on Wednesday for a rally in Duluth. A report in Bloomberg said Hicks was experiencing some symptoms associated with the coronavirus.

First Lady Melania Trump says she and President Trump are "feeling good" after testing positive for the coronavirus. The two are in quarantine and both have cleared their schedules as they deal with the respiratory illness. The First Lady encouraged everyone to stay safe, adding "we will all get through this together." Their positive tests came after top White House aide Hope Hicks tested positive earlier Thursday.
