Expiring Driver's Licenses To Be Accepted Until After Outbreak Is Over

In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Gov. Greg Abbott says expiring Texas driver's licenses will remain valid for now. Abbott made the announcement Wednesday, the same day all offices of the Department of Motor Vehicles closed down at the end of business hours. The order also applies to commercial driver's licenses and state-issued ID cards. The waiver of expiration dates will be in effect until 60 days after the Department of Public Safety lets the public know that operations are back to normal.
