A stray lighting strike is blamed for a fire that damaged a home in Stone Oak overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Fire crews were called to the 500 block of Mesa Loop, which is off Hardy Oak, on a report of smoke coming out of the attic.
When they arrived they found the family had safely evacuated, but there was heavy smoke in the attic.
It was a stubborn fire, and additional units had to be called in, but crews finally got it under control.
Nobody was hurt, and officials say the house is repairable.
