Timing & Area of Concern:

Tonight: Hill Country and Rio GrandeSaturday: Eastern Hill Country, I-35 corridor, and eastwardSaturday Night and Sunday: Coastal Plains

Threats & Impacts: 

Rainfall: 1 to 3 inches of rainfall Today through Sunday

Isolated pockets of 6 to 8 inches possible, mainly across the western Hill Country and Rio Grande

Some  locations may experience flood waters capable of causing small streams,  creeks, canals, and ditches to become swollen and overflow in a few  places. Flooding of low water crossings possible. Quick ponding of water and minor flooding possible across urban areas and poor drainage areas. 

Overview:

Increasing  moisture combined with an upper level storm system and weak cold front  will generate periods of showers and thunderstorms capable of locally  heavy rain through the weekend. The  best chances for showers and storms will be tonight across the Hill  Country and Rio Grande. Good chances for rainfall will spread east on  Saturday into portions of the eastern Hill Country and along and east of  I-35. For  Saturday night and Sunday, the cold front and focus for rainfall should  move east of the I-35 corridor into the Coastal Plains.
