Burnet County Wildfire now 35% Contained

Officials say a wildfire in Burnet County is about 35% contained, and has now forced the evacuation of about 150 homes, the Texas A&M Forest Service reports.

The fire started on private property off County Road 116 adjacent to Inks Lake State Park, and has since entered the park.  It has forced the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to close the park.

About 250 park visitors were evacuated, TPWD said.  It has been named the Park Road Fire, because of the place where it started.

The fire has now covered about 500 acres, and crews are working to contain it, officials said.

There have been no reports of injuries due to the fire, and so far, no homes have been lost.
