A San Antonio Police Officer has been hospitalized after he was assaulted while he was trying to break up a bar fight on the city's west side early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police were called to the Bottom Bracket Bar at Colorado and West Laurel about 3AM and were told that a 27 year old man had been threatening the manger.
When the officer attempted to take the suspect into custody, he punched the officer in the face.
The officer was hospitalized with injuries to his nose and forehead. The suspect is now facing felony assault on a police officer charges.
