A house party came to a screeching end on the city's south side early today, when a guest was shot in the back, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say several guests were at the home at Pleasanton and Drury about 1AM today when a guest pulled out a gun he had brought to the party.
The host told the guest to put the gun away, but instead it went off, striking the guest on the lower back.
Police say the man who was shot had no knowledge of the gun and appears to have been simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
The man with the gun ran off, and detectives don't know if he intentionally fired into the full house, or if the gun went off by accident.
