Drunk Drivers Kill Two Within A Half Hour in San Antonio

Two people were killed Monday night in two separate accidents caused by drunk drivers, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The first happened at San Pedro and McCarty, on the north side.  Police say a 40 year old man was walking down the sidewalk minding his own business, when an SUV jumped the curb and ran him over. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was checked out and was charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Less than a half hour later, police were called to the corner of Highway 151 and Hunt Lane on the west side.

They were told that a car driving west on 151 ran the red light and T-boned an oncoming vehicle, hitting it right in the passenger side door.

The woman who was sitting in the passenger seat was rushed to the hosptial where she was dead on arrival.  The driver is in stable condition.

The driver of the car that hit them was also drunk, and he is also charged with intoxication manslaughter.
