Two San Antonio Firms on Fortune's List of the Best 100 Workplaces in the USA

Two San Antonio firms have claimed their spot on the 2017 Fortune Magazine's list of the 100 best places to work in America, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

USAA, a perennial part of the list, ranks 35th on the list this year, about where they were last year.  USAA has been on the Top 100 list every year for the last 12 years.

"The venerable financial institution, which has served military families since 1922, combines meaningful work with serious benefits. An 8% 401(k) match, six weeks of vacation, and flexible scheduling are icing on the cake for employees, who say they’re proud of the “pure” and “rich” mission that makes it feel like a “noble cause to work here"," is how Fortune describes USAA.

Clocking in at the 74th best place to work in the country, despite the recent cutbacks, is Rackspace.  The Windcrest-based cloud computing company did not make the Top 100 list last year.

"You don’t have to check yourself in at the door” at this cloud-services company, where employees praise the “relaxed” atmosphere and freedom of “individual expression",” Fortune wrote about Rackspace.

Other Texas based companies on this year's Top 100 Workplaces list include Houston based David Weekley Homes and Austin based Whole Foods.

The best place to work in America, for the sixth year in a row, is Google.
