Reports to: Operations Manager
Basic Function: Plan, organize, direct, and control the preparations and executions of the Service Department to meet company objectives of costs, quality, equipment conservation and safety.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in hiring and training the service personnel.
• Coordinate the dispatching of service personnel.
• Oversee the submission of completed service paperwork, timecards, etc. and work closely with accounting to bill all service work on a daily basis.
• Aid in troubleshooting for service technicians and improve service techniques; perform service work as time and needs arise.
• Review all start-ups and completion by service technicians.
• Control, purchase and maintain service material inventory levels.
• Promote the Service Department and aid in selling service contracts.
• Maintain a projection of required manpower in the service department.
• Oversee the estimating process of service work as the need arises.
• Be sales oriented toward customers.
• Perform other duties which may arise.

Primary Working Relationships:
• Sales Manager and Operations Manager – Supervise and share resources, men, equipment, etc. to maintain schedule and profitability.  Provide regular feedback on progress of department, cost information, overall backlog, equipment needs and safety and training needs; most service work is done on a time and materials basis.
• Accounting – Obtain cost and other information for the preparation of customer invoices, budgets, performance reports, cost analysis data and daily reporting of personnel time and related reports.
• Service Crews – Obtain functional support for the construction operations, and provide labor and equipment on projects consistent with the proper allocation and application of these resources.
• Director of Marketing – work closely to promote service to our existing customers and potential new customers, including our guaranteed 48 hour response time, maintenance contracts, etc.; share re-roofing leads for marketing follow up.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a dependable, self-starter with a stable work history and proven track record and willing to work hard.
