In June of 1950, my father installed a TV antenna on top of our house at 405 Harmon, that was over 100 feet tall. We had one of the only TVs in the whole area. Your station was such a fantastic thing to watch. I remember that you would sign on in the evening I think around 5 or 6 pm and sign off at 10 pm. We had a 19-inch Philco in a big wooden case with very large electron tubes inside. All of this was in Momma's living room. None of us children could get near the furniture, so we made ourselves comfortable on the floor. When school started in September, we were allowed to watch only the news at the beginning of the broadcast. I can distinctly remember hearing the I Love Lucy theme song at night as I fell asleep. Such are the memories of a blessed and wonderful childhood. NJMJr
