AUSTIN, Texas (CNN) -- The University of Texas is looking for a new women's track and field coach.

Hall of fame coach Bev Kearney resigned Saturday. The 55-year-old admitted to having a consensual sexual relationship with a student athlete in 2002.

She is the first African-American coach to win an NCAA National Team Championship in Division One track and field.

Kearney is also the first African American to become a head coach at Texas.
