SAN ANTONIO - News 4 WOAI has confirmed that Texas (8-4, 5-4) has accepted an invite to zip south down I-35 to play in the Valero Alamo Bowl. It will be Texas' first appearance in the bowl since 2006.
The Longhorns will play No. 15 Oregon State (9-3, 6-3) out of the Pac 12.
Texas finished third in the Big 12, and is coming off a 42-24 loss to Kansas State.
The Beavers finished fourth in the Pac 12, and are coming off a blowout 77-3 win vs. Nicholls State. Oregon State coach Mike Riley says it will also be a bit of a homecoming for Beavers running back Storm Woods, who is from nearby Pflugerville. The Beavers will be playing in a bowl game for the first time in three years.
The Alamo Bowl will be played inside the Alamodome, Saturday, December 29th, kickoff at 5:45pm.
