According to multiple reports, the Dallas Cowboys have hired Monte Kiffin to be the team's new defensive coordinator.
Kiffin was the only candidate the Cowboys interviewed.
Kiffin has been an NFL assistant for 25 years. Last season, he served as the defensive coordinator for USC.
His famous "Tampa 2" defense is credited for turning the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers into one of the greatest defensive units in NFL history.
Kiffin replaces Rob Ryan who was fired earlier this week after serving as defensive coordinator the last two seasons.
