AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Eight games into the 2009 season, 1 second from 2008 still haunts Texas.

It was last season's loss at Texas Tech that ruined the Longhorns' chance to play for a national titl. The players say they take that memory into the final month of the regular season knowing they can reach the BCS title game if they stay undefeated.

Senior Chris Hall says Texas players have used the lesson of that loss to inspire them all season.

After two road wins, the No. 2 Longhorns return home Saturday against Central Florida.

Coach Mack Brown says it's a chance for Texas to make another national statement with a win.
