SAN ANTONIO- The property where the huge Bass Pro Shop sits at the Rim Shopping Center went up on the auction block. The owners owed nearly four million dollars in delinquent taxes on the property.

Within a matter of minutes after the bidding got underway on the steps of the Bexar County Courthouse the property sold to the highest bidder at auction.

Flint Bourgeois, who bought the property said, “We bid 4.2million for the Bass Pro Shops property and Commercial Builders Group is the high bidder. We're happy to have the property and we think its going to be a good business deal”.

The new owners have been tight lipped about their future plans for the property. But a communications spokesperson for Bass Pro Shop headquarters said the store is a big attraction that brings in about three million visitors a year and they don't know why anyone would want to change that.

If it brings in 3 million visitors a year why cant they pay their taxes? Lower your prices and maybe somebody could afford to shop there.

Founding, I happen to know that the average redneck nation (of which I am a proud mamber of) cannot afford to shop there. Only really rich douchy types who wear Columbia fishing button-ups with the flap on the back, cargo shorts and boat shoes and live no where near the coast shop there. And the wives with their asinine blinged out belts and fake bake hairlines. Real 'necks shop at Academy where prices are slightly lower. Even though they are a bit to stomach sometimes.

To be clear... I understood that it was the property owners and not the tenant that was past due on taxes... I doubt that BPS actually owns the property, though it wouldn't surprise me if they were. I also hear that Gander Mountain may be coming to SA in the near future... You kids stop your name calling before you get a time-out..
