Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas announced on Wednesday that the club has waived midfielders James Marcelin and Ricardo Villar.
Marcelin, 26, signed with FCD last May and appeared in 16 games for the club after he joined the Portland Timbers in 2010 and helped the team in its transition to MLS.
The 33-year-old Villar started last season with two goals in three games but missed three months of the campaign with injury issues.
During his two seasons with the Hoops, Villar scored two goals with two assists in 29 matches.
