Owings Mills, MD (Sports Network) - Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain will not play in the team's upcoming showdown with the Denver Broncos due to a neck injury he sustained in Sunday's game against Washington.

McClain left Baltimore's 31-28 overtime loss to the Redskins in the second half and is undergoing further tests to determine the severity of his condition.

The five-year pro has started 45 consecutive contests for the Ravens and had never missed a game since joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2008. McClain's 79 tackles ranks second among Baltimore defenders this season.

The Ravens have been hit hard by injuries at the inside linebacker position all throughout 2012. Perennial Pro Bowl honoree Ray Lewis has been out since Week 6 with a torn triceps, while replacement Dannell Ellerbe has been inactive for the last two games with an ankle problem.

Lewis, Baltimore's designated to return player on injured reserve, did resume practicing last week and is considered a possibility to be back in the lineup when the Ravens host the Broncos on Sunday in a matchup of current AFC division leaders.

The Ravens could also be without right guard Marshal Yanda for Sunday's clash after the 2011 Pro Bowl selection sprained his right ankle against Washington. Veteran Bobbie Williams would likely start the Denver game if Yanda cannot play.
