Recap: Clemson vs. North Carolina
Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Dexter Strickland scored 16 points, leading all five starters in double figures, as the North Carolina Tar Heels posted a 68-59 win over the Clemson Tigers in ACC play at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Reggie Bullock filled his stat line for the Tar Heels (20-8, 10-5 ACC) with 12 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals as UNC reached 20 wins for the ninth consecutive campaign. James Michael McAdoo and P.J. Hairston both contributed 11 points and Marcus Paige 10 for the visitors as they posted their fourth straight victory.
Devin Booker tallied 25 points for the Tigers (13-14, 5-10), all but four of which came in the second half, while also pulling down 11 rebounds as the squad suffered a third straight loss and the sixth in seven tries. Also recording a double-double for the hosts was Milton Jennings with 12 points and 10 boards, adding five assists along the way.
North Carolina scored the first points of the night and never looked back, leading by as many as 14 points in the first half thanks to 6-of-15 shooting behind the 3-point line. With the Tigers connecting on only 3-of-10 on the perimeter, the hosts found themselves with a 38-24 deficit at the break.
In the second half Clemson again had trouble from long range (1-of-7), allowing the Tar Heels to maintain their double-digit lead for much of the period before settling on the nine-point victory.
UNC, which shot only 8-of-15 at the free-throw line, did outscore Clemson in points off turnovers, 13-2.Game Notes
