SAN ANTONIO -- A woman's body was found inside a car on the West Side.

Police received a call around 5:15 a.m. Thursday concerning a sick or injured person at the corner of North Hamilton and Culebra. When officers arrived, they found a woman's body slumped over the wheel of a car. Police say the woman was injured but could not say how she died. Neighbors said hours before her body discovered, there was someone seen standing next to the car.

Investigators are trying to determine if the woman's death is tied in to an earlier disturbance in the neighborhood.

"A woman had been knocking on windows," said San Antonio Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Javier Salazar. "And knocking on one of them so hard that, in fact, she broke one of the windows and cut herself quite severely and then fled the location."

The woman's identity has not been released, and police have not named any suspects.

Police said they do believe 'foul play' was involved because there was a significant amount of blood.
