SAN ANTONIO – A homicide investigation is underway after a woman’s body is found in a field on the east side.
A bicyclist discovered the body around 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roland Avenue and Terron Road.
Detectives say the woman’s body probably hadn’t been there very long.
They found her lying face-up with no clothes on, and say she had bruises on her throat and scratch marks on her upper inner thighs.
The Medical Examiner’s office is working to identify her.
Neighbors say it’s a quiet area and they keep homes and yards locked up tight so the discovery is shocking.
The area is just past where Roland Avenue is closed for construction over Salado Creek. Normally, it runs straight through to I-10, but now that it’s closed, there’s a lot less traffic in the area.
