SAN ANTONIO - A woman was taken to the hospital after being shot through her doorway when drug collectors came to her apartment expecting payment.

The shooting took place in the 1900 block of Roosevelt on the city's South Side. Some time after 10 pm Monday night police say suspected drug dealers attempted to enter a couple's home to collect money. When his wife refused to allow them to enter, she tried to shut the door creating a struggle. The suspected shooter then shot through the door, hitting the woman in the arm.

A man living in the apartment is thought to have been fowarded methamphetamine some time prior to the shooting.

Officers tell News 4 WOAI the woman living in the apartment was taken to a local hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery. Police know who the suspected shooter is, and are in the process of tracking all the assailants down.
