oh so there is an excuse for being a wino in biblical times but not now and by the way how do you know all this first hand knowledge regarding events of 25 A.D. So when you bombed all those chinamen bob were you drunk or just imagining them naked?

Unsaved religious dillitantes often mention the incident in the Bible where the Lord Jesus turned water into wine. They rarely mention the frequent biblical injunctions against alcohol consumption and drunkeness, such as, "Be not among wine bibbers"-Proverbs 23:20, or "Look not thou upon the wine when it is red"-Proverbs 23:31 and others too numerous to mention. When Jesus was preaching and performing His miracles, the water was thick with these things called micro-organisms that made you sick, like cholera and typhoid. This was in the time before the invention of iodine or chlorine, so they had to kill off the bugs with alcohol. That wine was put in water. That isn't the same as going into a saloon and getting a drink of strong whiskey. God will not allow users of any drug, including alcohol (which is just as bad as the rest of them), into Heaven. They have to go on to Hell with Satan for their sins.

Until such time as the City Council orders the Chief of Police to put on his hat and close down these bar rooms and saloons where alcohol is served, this type of behavior will continue as a nightly occurance here in this city. All the drinking that is allowed in this city is anathema unto the Lord and we will be denied the full benefits of Christianity as long as we allow it. Each Christian will, naturally, be afforded complete rights as a saved person, bound for glory, but the community as a whole will not be allowed to prosper. All this whiskey drinking is like the weather. There's a lot of talk, but no one ever does anything about it. I don't guess the City Council will either- they are mostly the Devil's people themselves and I expect they spend a good portion of their time drunk. We must continue to pray for the redemption of these wretches and hope for better times.
