JOURDANTON, Texas -- A woman was killed and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash about 4 miles west of Jourdanton Wednesday morning.
A Department of Public Safety spokesperson said 31-year-old Yuri Casares was traveling on Highway 97 around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, when she swerved to avoid hitting a tire in the roadway. Investigators said she apparently overcorrected and her vehicle skidded and was then hit by another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
Casares died at the scene. The three people traveling in the other vehicle were injured. One of the victims was airlifted to University Hospital. The other two were taken by ambulance to other area hospitals.
