SAN ANTONIO -- A woman is recovering after she was hit by a truck while walking along the highway. It happened just after 11:00 p.m. Monday as the woman walked along eastbound Loop 1604 near IH-10 on the northwest side.

The woman told police she had just left a party and was walking along the highway when a truck drove by and side-swiped her. She suffered some leg injuries and is expected to recover.

Police say the driver of the truck stopped at the scene and will not be cited.

I always worry about the people I see walking along a Highway, etc... When it is a woman, I am tempted to go back and offer her a ride, but that seems like too much of a "chance" to take, these days. Hope this lady makes a full recovery and has learned a lesson.
