SAN ANTONIO -- A woman was killed when she was hit by a truck while waiting at a bus stop, police said.

The accident happened at the intersection of Wilson and Woodlawn on the Northwest Side just before 6:00 a.m. Monday.
Police say a truck driver admits running a red light and not being able to stop before colliding with a car. Investigators say the accident forced the truck to veer off the road and hit a 34-year-old woman sitting at a bus stop.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say a passenger in the truck was treated at a hospital. According to a police report, the truck driver was arrested on charges of driving without a license or insurance. He was later released on bond.

Neighbors says this is the third accident in a week. They believe speed bumps or more police patrols could help.

No it wasn't intentional but the idiot truck driver was driving without a license, I can see why. He can't drive. Dumb mistakes while driving tulip, I don't text and drive, drink and drive, I just drive and hope I get to my destination without getting killed. Dumb post.

I'm sorry for all involved. The woman's family and the truck and car drivers. It wasn't intentional. We've all made really dumb mistakes driving but most of the time no one gets hurt.

According to KSAT the truck ran a red light thus it was hit by a car that had the green light! The truck that ran the red light then lost control and plowed into the woman.

You insensitive jerks, a person died; my condolences to her family. Nowhere in the article did it say that alcohol was a factor, if the bunch of you are so intuitive as to when a driver is intoxicated or not, maybe you should be patrolling the streets, if we’re lucky maybe one of them drunks will take you out then we can sit here & make fun of you.

To those that drink and drive and not been responsible at all you really need to to take some consideration. How many more lives we are going to loose for your irresponsabilities!!!. Ah what if the lady was your mother!!

akh, I would think that the drunks would be well off the road by 6am. They've usually already slammed into rigs or entered the exit ramp by then. This type of death screams Final Destination....

What a crumby way to go...Sitting at the VIA stop of all places only to get clobbered waiting for a bus...That stinks...

Hint. Never be sitting down at a bus stop, but be on your feet ready to move. If you are sitting down beside the road, your are trusting that any number of drunks or otherwise distracted lamebrains care for your safety.
