The woman was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) with what were described as life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, who is in his early 50's, said he was traveling on Houston Street and had the green light. Investigators are still working to determine who had the right of way.

Ok everyone this young lady is someones daughter/sister/love one. We all need to sit back and let the police take care of this. Of course we have heard from the driver what was he suppose it was my fault would you. Has anyone heard from the young lady. Who is speaking for her. How is she. Reading some of these comments it doesn't matter to some of you. We need to hear from both does she not count. Does anyone know how long she was dragged before he figured he had runned over someone, how fast was he going since he dragged for sometime.I sure would not like this to have happen to one of my love ones. Hope she will be ok. And the truck driver well he has to live with the fact that he ran over and dragged this young lady he will not forget 9/14/12.

"I'm the survivor, I was in the right." Since people will not stop and get involved as witness's, mainly due to being given a warrant that treats them as a criminal "You may not leave town, you must be available 24/7" (I know, I was a witness to a one person minor drug bust and dang if that didn't arrive in the mail, I wasn't even allowed to leave the house unless I had a phone on me) these drivers are getting away with MURDER. Stop treating your witness's as criminals and you may clear a few more crimes. I've watched way WAY too many drivers run the red lights, men, women, cars trucks motorcycles... Do NOT limit an even to one sex/vehicle, every type has someone who does it. And you Witness's, get off your cell phones, stop, render aid and stand up or next time it might be you or a loved one that same driver sends to a plot in the ground. "If I had only..." will be your mantra for the rest of your life. GET INVOLVED!!!

I'm with the truck driver on this. I've seen many scooter, bike, and motorcycle drivers "coast" through an intersection without coming to a complete stop. Women are the worst. Hopefully she's OK and will get herself a car instead.

Analogy.........if a junior high football player goes onto the field of an NFL game in progress, who do you think is going to leave the field on a stretcher? Precisely, folks don't ride bikes, etc. on busy automotive routes.

Since woai leaves facts out of their articles, we should let the police figure it out. Have to agree there are many drivers who think of themselves before others so These accidents will continue to happen.

There is nothing in the story, "shinerboy", that says this is anything other than an accident and to imply otherwise is uncalled for. I'm in downtown most every day, and these people using scooters quite often act as if they were still pedestrians without realizing they can not reverse course as quickly as a pedestrian. Many times I've witnessed a scooter rider ignore the lights at a marked crosswalk, and at this time that's all it appears to be. Does anyone know what time of day the accident took place? Houston Street is an east-west street and it might be possible that the driver was blinded by the sun as well.

Yeah, I had the green light so I ran her over and drug her a few feet. Maybe THAT'LL teach her. REALLY DUDE!?!?! Boy there's some great PR for your business. We'll clean your pool and you say you've got problems with pesky scooter riders in your neighborhood?....well we can take care of those too!
