SAN ANTONIO -- A woman is caught on tape beating her dog with a rake and now Animal Control Services is investigating.

Joann Espinosa's backyard surveillance camera caught her neighbor striking her dog on two different days this week.  She reported the abuse to ACS, who immediately seized the woman's two dogs, even though she was caught striking one.

Espinosa says her camera was pointed in that direction for her family's protection.  She only reviewed the footage after she heard a commotion and a dog moaning.

"It was horrifying to watch.  It was horrifying," she said.

Espinosa showed News 4 WOAI the video that shows the woman with a rake in hand, striking her dog several times and kicking it.  The following day, the camera captured another incident.

"You see her bang on the dog's head twice, forcefully. Then the dog becomes disoriented from the blows to the head," Espinosa explains.

ACS is investigating to see if animal cruelty charges should be filed.  They said you don't have to capture abuse on camera to file a report.  If you witness animal abuse, you can contact them and file a written affidavit about the abuse.

News 4 WOAI is not identifying the woman because, at this time, she is not facing charges.  However, we learned she has previously been arrested for assault.

Every time I read comments that say "BEATING" or read the topic of this story packed full of LIES, I LAUGH SO HARD!!!!! In the footage (taken by a stalker by the way) It shows that she "STRUCK" the dog twice, TWICE, TWICE I SAY! How in the hell do you call that a BEATING? So if I smack someone twice on the head, are they going to tell the police I hit them twice or Beat them? Hmmmmm........ Yeah Like Ive been saying the news people that interviewed the stalker turned everything around and slapped the word "BEATING" on the story. Is there anyone among you judging that can find a definition of the word "BEATING" that pertains to something being struck twice? ANYONE? ALL you people that are talking mess are weak minded and easily controlled freaks! That is the TRUTH! Oh and by the way, if in fact the dog had been truly "BEATEN", the police wouldve arrested her or given her jail time! Why didnt this happen? Uh, cause the dog was never "BEAT"!

The things people say and believe make me laugh! @ Scoutmarch16, I hope that someday you have a neighbor that points a camera at you 24/7 recording everything you do and calls the cops everyday with lies just you make your life crazy.

This is, unfortunately, typical San Antonio.
