VON ORMY, Texas – Acting on a warrant from California, Bexar County deputies located a woman wanted for taking a child from that state. Priscilla Arlene Leal, 29, took her 6-year-old daughter, Lea Perez, from San Bernardino County in California last August, investigators say.
The girl’s father, Jose Perez, had been awarded custody of Lea. Authorities said Leal took off with the child and ended up in southern Bexar County. Deputies here located the mother and child at an address in the 4100 block of Deborah Kay in Von Ormy on early Thursday morning.
According to investigators, Lea Perez was found in good health and taken to the Children’s Shelter. She’ll be returned to Bernardino County.
Priscilla Leal is charged with felony kidnapping and concealing a child. Her bond is set at $150,000.
